Six people, including two young children, were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning (Nov. 28) on Hwy. B near the Raintree Plantation subdivision west of Hillsboro.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Timothy Phillips, 58, was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee east on Column Drive at Hwy. B at 11:15 a.m. when he failed to yield the right-of-way to a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven south on Hwy. B by Shirley Watters, 25, of De Soto, and the Pontiac struck the passenger side of the Jeep.
Watters sustained moderate injuries in the accident, as did a passenger in his car: Cathy Watters, 46, of Richwoods. Another passenger in the Pontiac, Michael Shirley, 24, of Festus sustained serious injuries and two children in the same car, Keilee Watters, 2, and Meekyn Watters, 4, both of De Soto, had minor injuries. They all were taken by Valle Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County.
All were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
