A Crystal City man was injured Sept. 7 in a one-vehicle accident on Dittmer Catawissa Road north of Eime Road northwest of Dittmer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:45 a.m., Robert C. Schaeffer, 71, of Crystal City was driving a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Trax and ran off the right side of the road, where the SUV struck a boulder and two mailboxes and then overturned onto a private driveway, the report said.
Schaeffer was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The vehicle was totaled, the report said.
