An Arnold man died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12, following a motorcycle crash at Hwy. 100 and West Villa Drive near Villa Ridge in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:52 p.m., Erik J. Radman, 43, of Arnold was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 west on the highway and allegedly was inattentive and crashed into the rear of a westbound 2020 Ford F150 driven by John T. Politte, 62, of Washington, Mo., who was slowing for a vehicle ahead that was turning right onto West Villa Drive, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Politte.
Radman was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., according to the report.
Politte was wearing a seat belt, and Radman was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle and pickup sustained minor damage, the report said.
