A 19-year-old Overland woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a one-car accident on Wednesday night, April 19, at the West Outer and Miller roads just south of Arnold in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:50 p.m., the woman was driving a 2016 Nissan Versa south on the Wester Outer Road, and the car ran off the south side of the road, where it struck a stop sign and guard rail before becoming airborne and then coming to rest on its left side in a creek, the report said.

The woman was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

She was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.

The highway patrol arrested the woman at 11:12 p.m. at the hospital for an alleged DWI, according to the report.
