Steven M. Otto, 62, of Imperial died when he was struck by a vehicle on the side of Old Hwy. M west of Old Antonia Road in Imperial on April 21, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:20 p.m., Barbara L. Bannister, 60, of Imperial was driving west in a 2015 Ford Expedition when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck Otto, a pedestrian, the report said.
Otto was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical services at 12:44 p.m., the report said, and was taken by Superior Mortuary Transport services to St. Louis County Morgue.
Bannister was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County the report said.
According to a hospital spokesman, Bannister was treated and released.
Bannister was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled, the report said.
