Brian Duncan, 27, of Festus was found dead Wednesday afternoon (July 7), more than a day after he crashed a motorcycle along Hwy. 61-67 in Barnhart, authorities reported.

Family members and friends had posted messages on Facebook that said Duncan was last seen on his motorcycle Monday night (July 5) in the Imperial area.

The Arnold Police Department was alerted on Wednesday that Duncan was missing, and a short time later, his body was found. According to the missing person report, Duncan may have been at the Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill, 131 Arnold Crossroads Center, on Monday night, Arnold Police Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday (July 6) on Hwy. 61-67 north of Stoneridge Court in Barnhart, where Duncan was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson FLHRCI and lost control of the motorcycle, which overturned onto its right side, slid off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and hit the ground, ejecting him.

Duncan’s body was found the next day, and he was pronounced dead at 1:27 p.m. by Rock Township Ambulance personnel, the report said.

He was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved helmet, the patrol reported.

Duncan, who went to Herculaneum High School, won the Class 1 state wrestling title at 285 pounds in 2013 after taking third place in the same weight category in 2012. He also was an all-state selection at left tackle for the school’s football team.
