fatal motorcycle crash patrol patch

A Cedar Hill woman was killed and a Cedar Hill man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon, April 27, in a motorcycle crash at highways 61 and B near Auburn in Lincoln County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2:45 p.m., James L. Goff, 62, of Cedar Hill was riding a westbound 2017 Harley-Davidson FLRT three-wheel motorcycle, and while trying to cross Hwy. 61, he reportedly pulled into the path of a northbound 2020 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Beth A. Haley, 43, of Curryville. The front of the SUV struck the side of the Harley, and Goff and a passenger on the motorcycle – Michele Dezuzio, 49, of Cedar Hill – were thrown from it, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Haley.

Dezuzio was pronounced dead at the scene, and Goff was taken by Air Evac helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.

Neither Goff nor Dezuzio was wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, and Haley was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The Harley was totaled, and the Traverse was extensively damaged, the report said.
