A Bloomsdale woman and a De Soto woman were injured Wednesday morning, June 12, in a one-car accident at French Village Road and Aubuchon Drive north of French Village in Ste. Genevieve County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:35 a.m., Ashley A. Mendonsa, 20, of Bloomsdale was driving a 2000 Grand Marquis south on French Village Road and failed to negotiate a curve, and the car ran off the left side of the road and struck a sign and embankment before returning to the road and then running off the right side of the road, where the rear of the car struck a tree, the report said.
Mendonsa was seriously injured, and a passenger – Ariel A. French, 22, of De Soto – sustained minor injuries, and both were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.
Both women were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The car was moderately damaged, the report said.
