man in handcuffs

A 50-year-old De Soto man was arrested Monday, Sept. 18, for allegedly driving on a suspended license following a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 110 and McMillen Road north of De Soto. A 40-year-old De Soto woman was hurt in the crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 6 p.m., Susan Harrel, 40, of De Soto was stopped on the highway in an eastbound 2022 Toyota Camry, preparing to turn left onto McMillen Road, when the De Soto man, in an eastbound 1998 Dodge Dakota, struck the rear of the Camry, the report said.

Harrel was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

The highway patrol arrested the De Soto man at 6:50 p.m., the report said.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon, Sept. 21, none had been filed in this case.

According to the report, both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Camry was extensively damaged, and the Dakota was moderately damaged.
