An 18-year-old Owensville man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance following a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon (July 16) on Jones Creek Road east of Weber Lane southwest of Dittmer near Oermann, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 1:45 p.m., the man was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer west on Jones Creek Road and ran off the right side of the road, where the SUV struck several fences, a culvert and a mailbox, the report said.
He was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
The man was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the man at 5:11 p.m. at the hospital for alleged possession of 14 grams of THC wax, the report said.
His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this morning (July 18), no charges had been filed.
