Nicole L. Gevermuenle, 29, of Mineral Point was seriously injured Sunday afternoon (May 19) in a one-car accident on Hwy. 67 north of Lee Pyle Road east of De Soto. The driver was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At about 4 p.m., a 31-year-old Park Hills man was driving a 2008 Mercury Sable north on Hwy. 67 when it ran off the left side of the road, went into a grassy center median, struck two road signs, overturned and ejected Gevermuenle, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the driver.

However, Gevermuenle was transported by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County and then transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday (May 21).

Gevermuenle was not wearing a seat belt, and the driver was wearing one, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.

The Park Hills man was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail, according to the report.
