Circuit Clerk Mike Reuter and a Farmington woman were injured Thursday when the two were riding on a motorcycle on Hwy. 30 west of Lonedell and crashed.

Jefferson County Circuit Clerk Michael E. Reuter, 56, of Imperial was seriously injured Thursday evening, June 22, in a motorcycle crash at Hwy. 30 and Bethel Church Road west of Lonedell in Franklin County. Nicole R. Litton, 40, of Farmington, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, also was injured, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:04 p.m., Reuter was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson Street Glide west on the highway and lost control of the motorcycle when he approached another westbound motorcycle that was stopped for traffic, and then the Harley overturned onto its right side and started sliding before striking the other motorcycle. Both Reuter and Litton were ejected from the Harley, the report said.

The other motorcycle, described as a blue Honda, left the scene, according to the report.

Reuter was taken by Arch helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, and Litton, who was moderately injured, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Washington, the report said.

No information about their conditions was available today, June 24.

Neither Reuter nor Litton was wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.

The Harley had minor damage, the report said.
