Shennial M. Young, 26, of Imperial was hurt Sunday evening (Nov. 29) when she was standing outside her car along I-270 in St. Louis County and another car struck it, pushing it into her, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At about 6:55 p.m., Young was headed south in a 2009 Toyota Camry on I-270 north of I-44 and lost control of the car before stopping in the left lane and getting out of it, the report said.
Benjamin A. Wuelling, 23, of Valmeyer, Ill., was driving a 2000 Dodge Intrepid south on I-270 and was unable to stop and struck the Camry, which then struck Young, according to the report.
Wuelling was wearing a seat belt, and no injuries were reported for him.
Young sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
Both cars sustained moderate damage, the report said.
