An Imperial woman and a Barnhart teenager were injured Wednesday afternoon (March 27) in a three-vehicle accident on Old Hwy. M and Moss Hollow Road in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:53 p.m., Holly M. Caskanett, 37, of Arnold, in a northbound 2017 Jeep Renegade, was stopped on Moss Hollow Road before pulling into the path of and striking a 2010 Dodge Caliber headed east on Old Hwy. M, the report said.
That collision pushed the Caliber into the westbound lane on Old Hwy. M, and the front of it struck the front of a westbound 2012 Jeep Liberty that was stopped on Old Hwy. M, according to the report.
Nellie M. Spangler, 68, of Imperial was driving the Caliber, and Gretchen E. Dobbs, 17, of Barnhart was driving the Liberty.
No injuries were reported for Caskanett.
However, Spangler was moderately injured, and Dobbs had minor injuries. Both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Caskanett and Dobbs were wearing seat belts, but Spangler was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
All three vehicles were moderately damaged, the report said.
