An Imperial teenager was seriously hurt in a motocross accident Sunday morning (Oct. 7) in St. Joe State Park near Park Hills in St. Francois County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Ryan Wiesehan, 17, of Imperial was riding a 2006 Yamaha YZ125 in the off-road area of the state park at 9:45 a.m. and was rounding a curve when he struck head-on a 2007 Yamaha Raptor 250 ridden by Noah Quinn, 14, of Hollister.
Both boys were wearing safety helmets, said the report, which made no mention of an injury to Quinn. Wiesehan sustained serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac helicopter to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
Both vehicles had moderate damage, according to the report.
