A 46-year-old Imperial man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated Thursday, Aug. 25, after he was injured in a single-vehicle accident on I-55 north of Meramec Bottom Road in St. Louis County, just north of Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:14 p.m., the man was driving north in a 2005 Ford Mustang when he lost control of the car, traveled off the right side of the road and struck the guardrail, the report said.
The man sustained moderate injuries. He was transported by the Mehlville Fire District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.
According to the report, the man was not wearing a seat belt, and the Mustang was totaled.
The patrol arrested him at 1 p.m. and held him at the St. Louis County Jail until his release.
The man’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon, Aug. 26, none had been filed.
