An Imperial man, an Arnold woman and a St. Louis man were injured Thursday afternoon (Feb. 17) in a three-vehicle accident on the ramp from Airport Road to southbound I-170 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:05 p.m., Steven E. Webb, 33, of Florissant was driving a 2016 Lincoln MKZ south on the ramp and lost control of the vehicle, which struck the front left side of a southbound 2009 Lexus ES350 driven by Sean M. Whiteaker, 45, of Imperial. Then, the Lincoln continued out of control, rotating counter-clockwise, and struck the rear of a southbound 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by Jereme A. Thompson, 35, of East. St. Louis, Ill., the report said.
No injuries were reported for Webb or Thompson.
However, Whiteaker had minor injuries, and a passenger in the Lexus – Melissa A. Ramsey, 46, of Arnold – was moderately injured. In addition, a passenger in the Sebring – Anthony E. Griffin, 46, of St. Louis – was moderately injured. All three were taken by ambulance to SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, the report said.
The drivers, as well as the passengers who were injured in the accident, were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Lincoln and Sebring were extensively damaged, and the Lexus was moderately damaged, the report said.
