Two Illinois women were injured Friday morning, June 3, in a three-vehicle accident at Hwy. 30 and High Ridge Boulevard in High Ridge, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:10 a.m., Lauren L. Traiteur, 33, of Marine, Ill., was driving a northbound 2015 Ford Fusion and while turning left from eastbound Hwy. 30 to northbound High Ridge Boulevard, she reportedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and the front of a westbound 2013 Ford Taurus driven by James L. Slape, 27, of Hillsboro struck the rear of the Fusion. After that collision, the Fusion began to spin, and the rear of it struck the rear of a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Michael D. Brown, 72, of High Ridge, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Slape or Brown.
However, Traiteur and a passenger in the Fusion – Melissa A. Hozain, 28, of Troy, Ill. – were moderately injured and taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
All three drivers and Hozain were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Taurus was totaled, the Fusion was extensively damaged, and the Avalanche had minor damage, the report said.
