A House Springs woman was injured Wednesday, Sept. 4, in a crash on the Hwy. 21 exit ramp to Old Hwy 21 in unincorporated Jefferson County north of Otto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:30 p.m., Kassandra L. Thomas, 33, was stopped in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala on the southbound ramp, the report said. Eugene R. Barrow, 61, of House Springs, driving a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, approached from behind and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the left side of the road. While Barrow attempted to return to the roadway, the vehicle overturned, striking the rear of the stopped vehicle, the report said.
Thomas was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
According to a hospital spokesman, Thomas was treated and released.
Thomas was wearing a seat belt, Barrow was not, the Toyota was extensively damaged, and the Chevrolet had moderate damage, the report said.
