A House Springs man was moderately injured Friday (Dec. 24) in a two-vehicle traffic accident at West Rock Creek Road and West Four Ridge Road in High Ridge.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Derek Hogan, 18, of High Ridge was driving a 2018 Dodge Journey east on West Rock Creek Road at 11:50 a.m. when he came around a curve in the road too fast and drove into the path of an eastbound 1994 Toyota Corolla driven by Christopher Haffer, 40, of House Springs. Haffer attempted to avoid the Dodge by swerving to the right, but the left front tire of the Dodge hit the left front of the Toyota.
The report made no mention of an injury to Hogan, but Haffer suffered moderate injuries and he was taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said. Both vehicles had extensive damage.
