A 23-year-old House Springs man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 11) in the 5300 block of Dulin Creek Road in House Springs. The man was hurt in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:05 p.m., the man was driving a southbound 1990 GMC 1500 and ran off the right side of the road, where the pickup struck a tree, the report said.

The man was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The pickup was totaled, the report said.

The highway patrol arrested the man at the hospital at 5:43 p.m. for an alleged DWI.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of Tuesday morning (Oct. 13), none had been filed.
