A Hillsboro woman was injured Wednesday afternoon, May 15, on Hwy. 21 north of Otto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:27 p.m., Eileen A. Kirsch, 81, was driving a southbound 2001 Buick LeSabre when she veered to the right side of the road, overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to strike an embankment and a tree, the report said.

Kirsch was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.

As of Thursday afternoon, May 16, Kirsch was in serious condition, a hospital spokesman said.

According to the report, Kirsch was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was moderately damaged.
