Jenna L. Heckethorn, 38, of Hillsboro was injured late Tuesday afternoon (June 15) in a two-vehicle accident on I-270 north of I-44 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:38 p.m., Heckethorn was driving a 2016 Fusion south on I-270 and stopped due to traffic congestion, and Patricia A. Rachell, 50, of Columbia, Ill., who was behind her in a southbound 2019 Buick Enclave, could not stop in time, and rear-ended the Fusion, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Rachell. However, Heckethorn was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Fusion was extensively damaged, and the Enclave was moderately damaged, the report said.
