traffic accident 2

A Hillsboro woman and a Fenton woman, both 70, were hurt Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 29) in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Little Brennan Road in High Ridge, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2 p.m., Toni H. Albrecht, 70, of Hillsboro was driving a 2012 Ford Escape east on Hwy. 30 and did not stop for traffic ahead at a red light, and the Escape struck the rear of an eastbound 2015 Jeep Renegade driven by Patricia L. Ray, 70, of Fenton. The force of that collision pushed the Renegade into an eastbound 2007 Mazda CX7 driven by Justien S. Halbrook, 35, of Bonne Terre, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Halbrook. However, Albrecht was seriously hurt, and Ray was moderately injured, according to the report.

Both Albrecht and Ray were taken by North Jefferson Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

Albrecht was listed in serious condition, and Ray had been treated and released, a hospital spokesman said Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 30).

Albrecht was not wearing a seat belt, and Ray and Halbrook were wearing them, the patrol reported.

The Escape was extensively damaged, the Renegade was moderately damaged and the CX7 had minor damage, the report said.
