A 22-year-old Hillsboro woman died following a crash on Thursday, Dec. 12, on Old Hwy. 21 north of Konert Road near Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:05 a.m., the woman, driving a 2007 Ford Escape, reportedly failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the road, onto a curb, and struck stationary construction machinery in the median, the report said.
The woman and a passenger, a 25-year-old Irondale woman who was moderately injured, were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said. The Hillsboro woman was pronounced dead by hospital personnel at 3:59 a.m.
According to the report, the Irondale woman was wearing a seat belt, the Hillsboro woman was not, and the Ford was totaled.
