woman in handcuffs

A 26-year-old Hillsboro woman was arrested Friday, Dec. 9, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following an accident on Hwy. 30 west of Whisper Valley Road north of Grubville.

She was injured in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2:40 a.m., the woman was driving a 2001 Ford F150 west on the highway and swerved to avoid a deer, and the pickup ran off the south side of the road, where it overturned, the report said.

She was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

However, the hospital had no information about her, a Mercy spokesman said.

The highway patrol arrested her at 3:31 a.m. that day at Mercy Hospital South before she was released, the report said.

According to the report, the woman was wearing a seat belt, and the F150 was totaled.

The woman’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against her, and as of today, Dec. 10, none had been filed.
