A 58-year-old Hillsboro woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a one-car crash Wednesday morning, April 10, on Plattin Road south of Hwy. 61 just south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:45 a.m., the woman was driving a southbound 2016 Ford Mustang when she failed to negotiate a curve and the car ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.
The woman was seriously injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
The highway patrol arrested the woman at 12:50 p.m. for an alleged DWI, and she was held at the hospital until her release, the report said.
She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was extensively damaged, the report said.
The woman’s name will not be published unless she is charged in the case, and as of late Saturday afternoon, April 13, no charges had been filed.
