A 16-year-old Hillsboro girl died Wednesday (June 30) following a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. B north of Reynolds Creek Road west of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The girl was driving a 2010 Pontiac G6 north on the highway and lost control of the car, which traveled into the southbound lane and hit a 2004 Ford F250 head-on, the report said.
Kyle H. Coleman, 34, of Potosi was driving the southbound pickup. No injuries were reported for him.
The Hillsboro girl, however, was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was pronounced dead at 10:57 p.m., the report said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, and the pickup was extensively damaged, the report said.
The highway patrol did not release the girl’s name because she is a juvenile.
