Shawn R. Allen, 44, of Hillsboro was seriously hurt Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 22) in a motorcycle wreck on Goldman Road north of Mockingbird Lane northeast of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:21 p.m., Allen was riding a 2014 Buell RX190 motorcycle north on Goldman Road and failed to stop in time for a pickup that was slowing to make a left turn, and the motorcycle struck a unit the pickup was towing, the report said.
Dale W. Vontalge, 60, of Imperial was driving the pickup, a 2013 Chevrolet 1500. No injuries were reported for him.
Allen was taken by Survival Flight helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokeswoman said.
Allen was wearing a helmet, and Vontalge was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was totaled, and the pickup had no damage, the report said.
