A 22-year-old Hillsboro man died after striking a utility pole on Hayden Road west of Jefferson College Drive in Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported
At 8:48 p.m. Thursday, July 10, the man was driving an eastbound 1994 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck the pole, the report said. The vehicle overturned and ejected the man.
Valle Ambulance District transported him to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where hospital personnel pronounced him dead at 9:41 p.m., the report said.
According to the report, the man was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled.
