A Hillsboro man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with drugs after he was involved in a single-car accident Saturday (Dec. 29) on Telegraph Road in south St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the 42-year-old man was placed under arrest after he was injured in an accident at 6:58 p.m. at Telegraph Road south of South Wind Meadow Court. According to the report, the man was driving south on Telegraph Road in a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina and crossed over the center line and off the left side of the road, where he ran into an electronic traffic signal pole.
The man sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Mehlville Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South (formerly St. Anthony’s Medical Center) in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
He will not be named unless he is charged with a crime by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The man was not wearing a seat belt, the report said. The Lumina was totaled.
