A 28-year-old Hillsboro man recently was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following an accident along I-55 and the Fox High School property in Arnold. The accident occurred about 8 a.m. April 25, Arnold Police report.
The man allegedly was driving a 2000 Buick north on I-55, ran off the interstate and crashed into a fence and a parked vehicle on the Fox High property, Lt. Brian Carroll said.
After the crash, the man was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, so Arnold Police went there and got a blood sample from him to determine his blood-alcohol content. As of May 5, Arnold Police had not received the results from the blood sample, Carroll said.
The man was arrested at the hospital, but he was not taken into custody. Depending on those lab results, Arnold Police will seek DWI charges against the man, Carroll said.
