Fatal accident patrol patch

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the two people killed Jan. 2 in a one-car accident on Calvey Creek Road north of Hawks Road in Dittmer near the Jefferson County border with Franklin County.

Korrie W. Bowen, 29, of Dittmer and Travis S. Glacken, 35, of Cedar Hill died in the accident.

In addition, Cheyenne L. Taylor, 22, of Cedar Hill was seriously hurt in the accident and was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was admitted and then discharged on Jan. 5, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The accident happened at 9:05 p.m. Jan. 2, when Bowen, driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero north on Calvey Creek Road, was negotiating a curve to the right before the car ran off the west edge of the road, where it struck a tree, the highway patrol reported.

The car also burned, said Cpt. Juston Wheetley, so the patrol had to wait for a Medical Examiner’s report to positively identify the victims.

None of the three was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.
