A 36-year-old High Ridge man died early this morning, July 11, when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to walk across Hwy. 30 east of Hwy. PP in High Ridge, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 12:30 a.m. today, a 47-year-old High Ridge man driving an eastbound 2009 Chrysler 300 struck the pedestrian, the report said.

North Jefferson County Ambulance personnel pronounced the 36-year-old man dead on the scene at 12:38 a.m., the report said. Edward’s Mortuary Transportation Service transported the man to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s office.

According to the report, the driver was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was extensively damaged.
