Carmen G. Tweedy, 51, of Grubville was injured Thursday evening, May 12, on Hwy. Y south of Stonehouse Road and northwest of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:35 p.m., Tweedy was driving a 2003 Ford Focus north on the highway, where a northbound van struck the rear of the Focus. Jason T. Schisler, 43, of Hillsboro was driving the van, a 2021 Chevrolet Express, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Schisler. Tweedy, however, was moderately injured and transported by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in serious condition at 2:27 p.m. today, May 13, a hospital spokesman said.
The patrol reported that both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The Focus was totaled, and the Express had minor damage, the report said.
