A Gray Summit man was injured Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 8) in a motorcycle accident on Hwy. NN north of Salamone Road west of Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:20 p.m., Kerry J. Larsen, 66, of Gray Summit was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson FLSTC south on the highway, and an unknown vehicle reportedly crossed into his lane, so Larsen turned to the right to try to avoid a collision and ran off the right side of the road, where the motorcycle struck a culvert and ejected him, according to the highway patrol.
Larsen was moderately injured and taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon (Sept. 9), a hospital spokesman said.
He was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was moderately damaged, the report said.
