traffic accident 4 patrol patch

Six Jefferson County residents, including four teenagers, were hurt Tuesday evening (Oct. 11) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 61-67 at Miller Road in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 5:10 p.m., Logan J. Tucker, 18, of De Soto was driving an eastbound 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan on Miller Road and had stopped at the intersection with Hwy. 61-67 before attempting to make a left turn onto the highway, pulling into the path of a southbound car, the report said.

The front of the van struck the right side of the car, a 2005 Ford Focus driven by Richard D. Blase, 21, of Imperial, according to the report.

Blase and a passenger in the car – Victoria A. Blase, 20, of Imperial – sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene and released, the report said.

Tucker sustained moderate injuries, and three passengers in the van he was driving were hurt, too, including John M. Tames, 17, of Festus and Cheyenne M. Schorman, 16, of De Soto, who both sustained moderate injuries, and Alisha K. Chester, 16, of De Soto, who sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

Tucker and all his passengers were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (Oct. 12).

Both the Blases were wearing seat belts, but neither Tucker nor any of his passengers was wearing them, the patrol reported.

The van was totaled, and the car was extensively damaged, the report said.
