Four people, including two from Jefferson County, were hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident Saturday afternoon (April 10) on Hwy. 67 at Victoria Road south of Festus and east of De Soto.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Franklin Conner, 72, of De Soto was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox west on Victoria Road at 12:22 p.m. when he was crossing over Hwy. 67 and failed to yield for a northbound 2017 Jeep Compass driven by Lauren Cartee, 19, of Farmington, and the Jeep hit the front driver’s side of the Chevrolet.
Conner and a passenger in the Chevrolet, Cathrine Carter, 49, of Valles Mines, both sustained serious injuries and both were taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Cartee sustained minor injuries but a passenger in the Jeep, Noah Heifner, 19, of Farmington, was moderately injured. Both were taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Conner, Cartee and Heifner were wearing seat belts but Carter was not, the report said. Both vehicles were totaled.
