Five people were hurt in a three-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon (July 31) on Hwy. A west of Festus.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Erica Lang, 22, of Arnold, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt west on Hwy. A east of Pebble Creek Estates Drive at 1:25 p.m. when she failed to stop for two vehicles that were stopped ahead and she struck the rear of a 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Shannon Coleman, 39, of Dittmer, then struck the rear of a 2014 Chevrolet 3500 pickup driven by Brad Wilfong, 39, of Arnold.
Lang sustained minor injuries but a passenger in her car, Gary Lang, 26, of Arnold sustained moderate injuries. Coleman and two passengers in the Nissan, Jeremy Manczuk, 39, and Helena Manczuk, 12, both of St. Louis, all sustained minor injuries. All five were taken by car to St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. Wilfong was not injured.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Wilfong, Coleman and the Manczuks were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident while the Langs were not. The Nissan and the Cobalt were totaled while the Chevrolet pickup had moderate damage.
