Melissa A. Miller, 42, of Festus was seriously injured Wednesday night (Nov. 4) when she was standing on Hwy. CC north of Sunnyside Road south of Festus and was struck by a car, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:45 p.m., Richard A. Singer, 46, of De Soto was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze south on the highway, and the front of the car struck Miller, who was standing in the southbound lane, the report said.
Miller was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was listed in critical condition this afternoon (Nov. 5), a hospital spokeswoman reported.
No injuries were reported for Singer. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was moderately damaged, the report said.
