Dawn R. Moutray, 42, of Festus was injured Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 22) when the car she was driving was hit from behind on Hwy. Z at Jarvis Road east of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:52 p.m., Moutray was stopped in a 2008 Toyota Camry waiting to make a left turn from eastbound Hwy. Z onto Jarvis Road, and Tiernan R. Kelsheimer, 25, of Arnold, driving a 2001 Plymouth Neon, failed to stop and rear-ended the Camry, the report said.
After the collision, the Camry ran off the right side of the road, according to the report.
Moutray was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.
Kelsheimer sustained minor injuries but refused treatment, according to the report.
Moutray was wearing a seat belt, but Kelsheimer was not, the patrol reported.
The Camry was moderately damaged, and the Neon was extensively damaged, the report said.
