Jennifer L. Laflen, 41, of Festus was seriously hurt Wednesday morning (Sept. 9) in a one-vehicle accident on I-55 at Lindbergh Boulevard in south St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:45 a.m., Laflen was driving a 2020 Subaru Forester north on the interstate, and she suffered a medical condition, causing the SUV to run off the east side of the road, where it struck a concrete barrier. Then, the force of that impact caused the vehicle to travel across all lanes before it struck the concrete median, the report said.
She was taken by the Mehlville Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Laflen was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
