Cole A. Meador, 16, of Festus was seriously hurt Wednesday morning (Sept. 7) in a one-vehicle accident on Woodland Road north of Ogle Ridge Road in the Festus area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 10:58 a.m., Meador was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram north on Woodland Road and was distracted before the pickup ran off the right side of the road, where it struck a tree, the report said.
He was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Meador was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was totaled, the report said.
