A Festus man was seriously hurt when his motorcycle ran into the back of a pickup truck Saturday morning (May 1) on Plattin Road south of Festus.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Mark Harris, 55, of Festus was riding a 2018 Honda CB300F motorcycle north in the 1900 block of Plattin Road at 10:40 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line and ran into the left rear of a southbound 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 driven by Larry Whitener, 66, of Hillsboro. Harris was thrown from his motorcycle from the impact, the report said.
Harris sustained serious injuries and was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
The report made no mention of an injury to Whitener.
Harris was wearing a safety helmet and Whitener a seat belt, the report said. The motorcycle had moderate damage while the truck had minor damage, according to the report.
