Martin H. Schlereth, 76, of Festus was hurt this morning (May 30) in a motorcycle wreck on Hwy. T north of Autumn Ridge Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:40 a.m., Schlereth was riding a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300 motorcycle north on the highway and ran off the right side of the road, where the bike overturned onto its left side, ejecting the rider. Then, the motorcycle slid and hit a culvert, the report said.
Schlereth was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
He was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
The bike was extensively damaged, the report said.
