Two Fenton women and a Chesterfield man were injured Friday night (April 2) in a one-car accident on Saline Road north of Lazy Oak Road in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 8:40 p.m., Joshua C. Lay, 24, of Chesterfield was driving a 2021 Audi A4 south on Saline Road, and while allegedly traveling too fast for the road conditions, he failed to negotiate a curve to the left, and the car skidded, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.

He and a passenger in the car – Jaymie Kline, 43, of Fenton – were seriously injured, and a second passenger – Emily Kline, 21, of Fenton – was moderately hurt, according to the report.

All three were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

Lay and Emily Kline were wearing seat belts, and Jaymie Kline was not wearing one, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.
