An 18-year-old Fenton man was arrested Thursday night, Aug. 3, for allegedly driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 141 north of Romaine Creek Road in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:20 p.m., the teenager was driving a northbound 2012 Dodge 1500 and struck the rear of a unit being towed by a 2010 Ford F150 driven by Murad Mikeladze, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Then, both vehicles traveled off the left side of the road into the grass median, the report said.
The Fenton teen was moderately injured, and Mikeladze sustained minor injuries, and both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy South in south St. Louis County, where the 18-year-old was treated and released and Mikeladze was listed in good condition as of Friday, Aug. 4, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
The Dodge was totaled, and the Ford was moderately damaged, the report said.
The 18-year-old was arrested for an alleged DWI at 11:49 p.m. and held at the hospital, where he was later released, according to the report.
The teen’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of Aug. 4, none had been filed.
