Brian J. Dabbs, 31, of Fenton was seriously hurt this morning (Sept. 23) in a two-vehicle accident on I-55 north of Reavis Barracks Road in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Dabbs was driving a 2005 Hyundai Accent south on I-55, and he swerved to avoid a collision with a 2014 Dodge Ram ahead in the same southbound lane, before losing control of the Accent, which ran off the right side of the road, where it overturned, the report said.
Andrew T. Tayon, 45, of St. Louis was driving the Ram. No injuries were reported for him, but the pickup he was driving sustained minor damage, according to the report.
Dabbs was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in good condition this afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and Tayon was wearing one, the patrol reported.
The Accent was totaled, the report said.
