A Fenton man was injured in crash involving a tractor trailer on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on New Sugar Creek Road at Valley Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:30 a.m., Winfred G. Richardson, 74, drove a 2020 Buick Envision from Valley Drive onto New Sugar Creek Road into the path of a 2020 Kenworth T800 driven north by Jerry E. Torbet, 48, of Fenton, the report said. The front right of the tractor trailer struck the front left of the Buick, causing the Buick to spin and travel off the right side of the road.
Richardson was moderately injured and taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, Richardson was in satisfactory condition at Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, Torbet was wearing a seat belt, Richardson was not, the Buick was extensively damaged, and the tractor trailer had minor damage.
