A 42-year-old Fenton man was arrested Sunday evening (March 15) for alleged possession of cocaine and suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Delores Drive in unincorporated Fenton. The suspect and another Fenton man were hurt in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:25 p.m., the suspect was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe east on the highway and ran off the left side of the road, where it struck the front of a 2002 Chevrolet S10 that was stopped in the left lane from westbound Hwy. 30 to Delores Road, the report said.
Cody Crum, 34, of Fenton was driving the S10.
Both the suspect and Crum were moderately injured in the wreck and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
The suspect was not wearing a seat belt, and Crum was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
Shortly after the accident, the highway patrol arrested the suspect at the hospital and will seek felony charges against him for possession of a controlled substance and DWI, according to the report.
